ABOUT
Commissioned to produce a detailed architectural illustration of a secluded log cabin set within the dense woodland of Washington State. The project focused on capturing the relationship between the structure and its natural surroundings, emphasising atmosphere, materiality, and seasonal light.
Working from a combination of reference imagery and client-provided sketches, I developed a highly detailed visual that highlighted the cabin’s handcrafted timber construction, deep overhangs, and large glazed openings overlooking the forest. Particular attention was given to texture and tone—contrasting the warmth of the wood against the cool, misty landscape typical of the Pacific Northwest.
The final illustration was designed to function both as a presentation piece and a storytelling tool, conveying a sense of retreat, isolation, and calm. Subtle environmental details—such as filtered light through tall pines, soft ground cover, and distant mountain silhouettes—were used to reinforce the narrative and setting.
Delivered as a high-resolution digital artwork, the piece was used by the client for personal presentation and future design development.
