Ellen's work

About Ellen

To whom it may concern,

Having just graduated from Winchester School of Art receiving a BA Honours Degree in Graphic Arts, specialising in Photography, I am eager to continue this passion for photography and design in an environment where my creative abilities can thrive and be challenged. I'm an extremely hardworking, outgoing and friendly person who flourishes working alongside likeminded professionals as well as striving hard to understand and satisfy the client's needs. When it comes to my work, I'm determined, ambitious and organised, a fast learner that endeavours to complete everything to the highest standard.

The role of Creative Assistant would be the ideal next stage in my professional progression and development. Having taught myself how to use Photoshop from a young age, it became my primary hobby. Whilst sitting my A-Levels I wanted to challenge and improve upon my skills with the programme by tackling a project of 'Photo Manipulation', going far beyond using the standard Photoshop techniques to create abstract, impressive images. My talent and techniques where soon noted and I was drafted to assist the teaching staff in delivering Photoshop and photography lessons in my final year.

During my time at Winchester School of Art (University of Southampton), we explored all aspects of Graphic Arts; Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography and Motion Graphics. I chose to specialise in Photography and quickly adapted to the professional standard which was expected. University allowed me to become accustomed to the equipment and programs that are used in the photography industry, having used a large variety of digital cameras, frequent use of the university's photo studios for personal projects and a strong knowledge of programs such as Photoshop, Indesign and Mac Operating systems.

I see photography as a gateway into peoples' lives, places and lifestyles. I am passionate about nature and the landscapes that define the world around us, as well as the people that shape this landscape and how nature shapes our lives. Other people's hobbies and way of living intrigue me, and by creating honest and creative photographs, I want them to inspire others too. I am particularly interested in combining photography with graphic design, and am influenced about all aspects of editorial publications. By combining these aspects, I want my work to be a successful creative exploration into people and world around us.

Thanks for your consideration,

Ellen Green
