Mental Health Foundation is a charitable trust that produces campaigns and runs services covering mental health and wellbeing.

I was tasked with designing a series of mental health workbooks that would be accessible to school faculty members and care givers. They supplied me with the following criteria, explaining that the project should:

Be bright, energetic and uplifting, in order to capture the concept of ‘flourishing’.
Have a contemporary design that’s also upbeat and accessible.
Have design elements that show that it’s anchored in New Zealand.
Have design elements that invite the reader in.
Avoid images devoid of hope or imagery that portrays mental illness in a negative way.
Avoid colours that are dark or oppressive.
Avoid looking stark and highly corporate.
