ABOUT
In essence this is a visual CV. The artwork has been printed onto silk twill 90x90cm to be given to Liberty of London, Acne Studios, House of Holland, Lazy Oaf and Colette, Paris. These are companies and creative agencies I aspire to work for. I wanted to capture my graphic talents in a unique way which lends itself to their brands. By digitally printing my artwork onto a scarf the intention is that the creative teams will be inspired to hire me or place my designs in their scarf collections.
It is an illustrated insight into who I am and my journey so far, as a bilingual french and english speaker. Each individual illustration has been collaged together, to form snapshots of memories which have helped to shape and develop the graphic design style that I have adopted.
The journey flows from the top left-hand corner with my childhood in Compeigne, France, where the WWII armistice was signed. In 1999, I began to learn my second language, English, when my family and I returned to England. In learning one sentence of English per week, a whole new culture bursting with heritage came alive which I began to explore.
This personal tapestry is an amalglamation of French and English architecture, artists, characters, designers and specific cultural nuances. Do have a look and see what you recognise!
