Who knows how many things we don't know about the places we live in and love!

I had never heard of Wanda Wulz until this year, when I visited the beautiful exhibition in Trieste dedicated to her family's photography studio.

Yet she was born and lived right there, in that city that I love and often return to (I even studied there for a few years at university!).

An incredible woman and photographer, she experimented with Futurism while continuing to run the studio her grandfather had opened.

She shared her work and freedom with her sister Marion, choosing never to marry and to devote herself entirely to art.

For me, discovering her was like opening a window onto a piece of the history of my beloved Trieste that no one had ever told me about.
And also onto a strong and independent figure who really captivated me.

???? I wonder how much more this city hides...
