“Photography captures a moment out of time, altering life by holding it still.” ????

This quote by Dorothea Lange perhaps sums up the character of Wanda Wulz, a photographer from Trieste, daughter of a family that has been practising this art since the 1800s.

I discovered her last year at a beautiful exhibition on the Wulz family at the @magazzinodelleidee in Trieste.

Wanda's face was the first thing that struck me, with that slight pout and eyes reminiscent of a cat's.
Imagine my surprise when I found myself in front of her work ‘Io + gatto’ (Me + Cat), where she had superimposed her face and that of her cat Mucincina!

A photographer, visionary artist linked to the Futurist movement, emancipated and free woman, Wanda is certainly a figure to remember on World Photography Day.

I hadn't picked up Procreate Dreams in a while, but I'd say it was a great way to start again ????
