ABOUT

MSD Animal Health Italia, a leading company in the veterinary sector, requested the creation of two explanatory animated videos for the Youact Pet line of supplements for the health of dogs and cats. The objective was to communicate in a clear and emotional way the functioning and benefits of two specific products:
• Youact Entero and Entero SOS, for the intestinal well-being of dogs and cats.
• Youact Glico, for maintaining an ideal body weight in dogs.

The videos would be used in veterinarians’ waiting rooms and on MSD’s social channels, without voice-overs, but with clear, readable graphics and icons.
To maintain consistency with MSD’s identity, the videos were developed with a soft, welcoming and reassuring style. The orange, green and purple palette was chosen to echo the brand colours and convey serenity and warmth.

Talking with the client, we opted for a modern drawing style with soft lines and muted colours to make the scenarios and characters interesting and close to the viewer. Some visual details, such as the style of the sky in both videos and the simple shapes of the protagonists’ faces, recall the graphics of MSD’s social posts to ensure visual consistency.

Having successfully passed the phase of storyboarding, choosing the style and creating the various elements, after a few small agreed changes I moved on to the realisation of the animation, fluid and minimal to emphasise the natural movement of animals and people and keep the focus on the message. I included animated text and icons to describe the supplements’ composition and benefits and to support the narrative without voice-overs. Music and sound effects were carefully chosen to evoke positive emotions without overpowering the animation.

This project was a stimulating challenge not only in balancing storytelling, branding and clarity of information, but also in managing the entire production and communicating with customers, which was important to actively involve them at every stage of the project.
