About me

About Me

My name is Eleanor Taulbut, and I am a Fashion Design student at the University of Portsmouth. My work is driven by a passion for couture, craftsmanship, and innovative textile development.

I enjoy combining traditional garment construction with contemporary techniques, exploring corsetry, sculptural silhouettes, laser-cut textiles, and sustainable design methods. My creative practice is inspired by movement, the natural world, and storytelling, with themes such as the sea, dance, and transformation shaping my collections.

Alongside my studies, I am developing my creative identity through Eleanor Victoria Boutique—a personal design vision focused on thoughtful, beautifully crafted garments that celebrate individuality and artistic expression. My ambition is to create fashion that balances technical excellence with imagination, producing pieces that are both visually striking and meaningful.

Studying Fashion Design at the University of Portsmouth has strengthened my skills in research, design development, garment construction, collaboration, and creative problem-solving while encouraging experimentation with both traditional and digital making techniques. The course combines fashion and textile design, emphasising innovation, sustainability, self-awareness, and professional development, preparing graduates for careers across the fashion industry.
