About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
My degree focused primarily around design and innovation, and all the knowledge which this requires, such as research, material selection and testing, prototyping (physical CAD-based and electrical) and presenting to tutors and clients. As well as this, I have also worked on the digital side of design using programming languages such as Processing and Arduino to create data viualisations and robotic systems.
Communication and interpersonal skills are extremely important. I am a very articulate and confident person, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. These skills have been repeatedly demonstrated in throughout my employment history as well as in my many successful group projects I have undertaken in my undergraduate degree. Team work was a key aspect of my degree as most of the coursework was based around group work and cohesiveness among the team.
My degree was very much focused on the self-taught side of design as it revolved around me having to find the best, most compelling and innovative design solution to a fault or problem. This forced me to solve problems in a much more logical, analytical and creative way using divergent thinking.
I have just completed 6 months as a Packaging Designer. My role consisted of designing new and innovative packaging for cosmetics, food and pharmaceuticals. I took the brief from the customer and created the packaging for their product.
I believe I am a very good candidate for this role and I would be most grateful if you could consider me for this position. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to let you know more about my skills and experience at an interview. I would also appreciate if you could take the time to have a look at my online portfolio.
Please feel free to contact me via email or call me on .
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Eleanor Donald Fathers
