About me

My name is Eleanor Cantons, I am a prop-maker and artist.

I am originally from London and I have lived and worked in Madrid since October 2018. I Graduated from UAL in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Illustration. I also have a foundation degree in Graphic design.

I have many skills in the creative field, for example, in my final project at UAL, I made Jewellery from found objects using a range of techniques including casting metal with silicon molds and soldering. Since then, I have worked on two short films as the Production Designer and prop maker. One film entitled "WHY", was selected for the London Independent Film Festival 2020. Before university, I worked in bars and street-restaurants which taught me how to use teamwork in fast paced situations: a skill I later used on set, where a fine balance is needed to communicate the wants of the director while utilizing my assistants to get the job done most effectively. I would love a position in your company, to be involved at any level with the design concepts which support an overall idea and to be able to help realize those ideas. I am well-organized and have a strong creative side. I have created props with both physical and digital designs. I also have sales and customer service experience, which is useful for any customer focused business.

I moved to Madrid looking for new challenges and spent 7 months teaching English to adults and children from the ages of 5 to 15 with class sizes anywhere from children. This job was incredibly rewarding and I was given free-reign to plan classes based on a specific subject. I often used art as a way to illustrate and bring excitement to my classes by making comic books or getting the children to make props for plays from paper.

My current position is at Selectra as a sales agent for the English energy market. I have worked there for 1 year and it has helped me to establish myself in Madrid. During my time at Selectra I have learned how to acquire new leads and sell through understanding and catering to the customers' needs. I have also helped to train new agents at the company and am confident in talking with clients in a professional manner.

I spend a lot of my free time crocheting hats and other clothing items and am starting an online business where I intend to sell and promote bespoke handmade hardware. I am also continuing experiments with clay and Digital Art using Adobe software. I would love to return to working full time in a creative field. One of my key strengths is the creative perspective I bring to problem solving as well as a strong ability to use tools, craft and design. I have worked with many different media, including metal, wool, paint, clay and digital. I feel that I have the ability to adapt these techniques to any brief as well as remaining organised.
