In 2012, members of EDNA's team co-authored a scientific paper on the great white shark population of Dyer Island, South Africa, an area widely accepted as the white shark capital of the world.

When the paper was published in June 2013, we were contacted to produce a film detailing the process our discoveries, to help the work appeal to a wider audience.

'Gauging the threat' was written, shot, edited and scored in its entirety in barely five days, and was presented to some of South Africa's leading white shark experts and eco-tourism operators at the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town.
