Discover Buxton was established late 2012, and their unique approach to historical tours throughout the spa town of Buxton caught on quickly with both local residents, and visitors to the area.

While their existing web site had served them well, they were outgrowing it quickly and needed a new, mobile-friendly solution to go live ahead of their upcoming season.

This is the type of project that the team at EDNA absolutely love: a small company with a real love for their local heritage and community empowerment, combined with an iconic identity.

There were two primary goals with this project: to take the brand Discover Buxton had already established to a new level, and effectively showcase their unique service regardless of the device used by web site visitors.

We created a totally bespoke WordPress theme complete with media queries to ensure the site worked as required on mobile phones and tablets. We also created a series of handdrawn illustrations to work in both the web site, and future marketing materials.

Since going live, the new web site has seen a monthly decline in bounce rate while the number of visitors, and the average time spent by those visitors on the web site have been steadily increasing.
