Thatchers have a real pedigree in sports sponsorship. To showcase their skill, craft, and heritage in cider making in a way that would resonate with a sports-savvy audience, we continued the story of the award-winning masterbrand TV ad with a sports twist. Three special mini-ads continue the story of life on Myrtle Farm, told in claymation by iconic Aardman Studio.
Each mini ad celebrates a different sport - cricket, rugby, or football, as our Thatchers characters interact with their most precious resource, the apples. And media planning was tailored to match big sporting events. For example, the rugby ads aired during coverage of the Six Nations Championship.
It was a great opportunity to expand our Masterbrand world and share a little more insight into our characters and their commitment to perfection. System 1 are fans – the results speak for themselves.
