ABOUT

Here’s how i’d like to analyze my painting “Syzygy”;

If you separate the figure from the surrounding space, each section tells a part of my story. The lower portion speaks to my past, framed in bold, intense reds - symbolized by roses that carry both beauty and pain. The middle area represents transformation: fires and butterflies illustrate the often difficult but necessary process of letting go, adapting, and evolving into a stronger, clearer state of mind.

At the top, the imagery softens, lotus flowers and water droplets evoke a sense of mental clarity, peace, and renewal. At the heart of the painting stands a figure: myself, fully immersed in the experience, embracing both the light and the shadow, the pleasant and the painful.

To me, this painting is about feeling grounded and safe even in the midst of hardship. It’s a visual prayer of gratitude for every emotion, every lesson, and the full spectrum of human experience. It honors the gift of being able to love, to grieve, to grow, and to exist in this universe.

There’s a strong sense of duality throughout the piece, which also reflects the concept of balance. The Flower of Life -a sacred geometric pattern representing the universe- appears twice. I like to imagine the one at the top as symbolizing the spiritual realm, and the one below as the material world. Together, they remind me that true harmony comes from finding balance between the two.
