About me

Ged is a highly experienced professional from the events industry and a lecturer in tourism & events management. Prior to teaching, Ged has worked in the events industry for many years in a variety of different areas. After a distinguished career as a musician, Ged became the Events Manager at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool with numerous notable achievements during his tenure. Prior to that, Ged was the Development Manager for the Merseyside Music Development Agency (MMDA) the first of its kind in the UK where he developed a number of business services, led a number of Government funded international trade visits and managed sizable European funding for the creative industries. As part of his undergraduate degree, Ged co-ordinated the only Liverpool Community Festival in 1999. More recently, Ged has written and contributed to book chapters, reports, journal articles, international academic projects and conference papers in areas of events management, the creative industries
