About me

Dear sir/madam,

I am currently working as a sole trader in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, having worked as an in-house graphic designer at agencies for several years both during and after university.

While I have enjoyed the challenge of running my own business, and being solely responsible for things such as deadlines, client management, print coordination and much more, I am hoping to move to a larger, faster-paced work environment where I can continue developing as a designer while part of an energetic team. I am very much a people person and have always worked well with other designers and co-workers, regardless of the line of work.

I am extremely proficient in the Adobe package, in particular Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, as my main area of expertise for the past decade has been print design. I have, however, created a few websites, including my own company site, in addition to running my own blog, and have also designed several flash animations for the internet and television.

I have a wealth of experience in both print and multimedia design, and I enjoy the challenge of working in both simultaneously. I am also well-versed in the requirements of packaging and corporate design, having done work in the past for the products of high-profile companies such as the BBC, Red Bull, and many others.

Working closely with printers on the majority of my graphic projects has given me an invaluable knowledge of that side of the design process, and I also spent a year working on a voluntary basis as designer, editor and printer of a bi-monthly community newspaper (circulation of 1000 copies).

I have incredible attention to detail, and pride, in all of my work. This is something that has probably been honed over the years, but in particular with the intricate vector illustrations I create, for my clients and customers.
