ABOUT

Peer Massage Project pioneer a very unusual scheme - School children are massaging their peers . The process is accompanied by narrated stories such as 'Journey to India' .
The children are given handouts prior to each session. The handouts previously used were very basic, the people and hands drawn in a stickman manner. The owner was keen to improve the quality of the illustrations.
I used my own sons as photographic models. The client and I directed them carefully, so each hand gesture and sequence was shown in a perfect way.
After the successful photoshoot is was then down to me to select the best images and then turn them into engaging and clear line drawings. I have used my one continuous line style for this as it has a very energetic and modern touch. Simple outline drawings can easily look dated and too grown-up.
The finished line drawings were then scanned and a colour layer was added in Indesign to add colour the different features. Apart from the actual gestures there was also a set of related drawings to be created, relating to the respective story. The 'Journey to India' story showed a Sitar player etc.
The client was extremely happy with the results.
