Dominik Gackstatter Senior Graphic Designer

ABOUT

The brief was simply to create artwork for the large empty walls of Project Centre's new office. It was soon clear that I had to advertise the main asset of the company, its people.
Of course I could not simply show photographs but wanted to depict them in a reduced, icon-like form. I remembered the portraits Andy Warhol created, maximum contrast, clear forms and colours.
I edited the portraits in photoshop, pulling the contrast lever again and again to maximum to get these clear forms. The finished image was saved as bitmap. The images were placed in Indesign.
People come and go in larger companies. To avoid issues with having to replace the entire artwork after some time I prepared the panels in 2x2 images. They were printed on foamex and my supplier and I attached them with velcro panel by panel onto the wall.
The principle works very well, the joints are not visible.
The image has been used subsequently in image adverts for the company.
