About me

Hey there,

Allow me to introduce myself, My name is Matt Gardner.

I'm a Graphic Designer / Illustrator / Creative / Coffee Guzzler by trade. With 5 years' experience working on high-end menswear within the denim industry.

From Research, Design & Development across Garment design to Art Direction, Graphic Design, Branding, Project Coordinating, Organising and executing Campaigns for Web and Look books.

Formerly the Graphic Designer and Assistant Designer to the Creative Director at Flying Horse Indigo Goods, I learned a lot of new skills and worked across all platforms of the brand on a daily basis. After which I co-started The Textile Tribe, a design consultancy and fabric agency based in central London to get a greater understanding of the other side of the table when it comes to brand building.

With an Extensive Knowledge of Print for various styles of fabrics, printing methods, and style of graphic placement, I went on to expand those skills into the above list of practices and within my time at FH learned how to successfully research, design, develop and execute a collection from the primary sketches to the finished pieces and campaign/ marketing material. It truly was a fantastic experience, I now wish to push my skill sets further.

My time within the industry has not only been Creative and design focused, it has also required me to attended many fabric fairs, trade shows, and numerous development trips. From denim mills to garment makers and Wash Houses, I have overseen the product development and QC analysis of many collections.

I'm a wearer of many hats, which has proven to be an essential part of working in a small team, especially when operating to the tight deadlines of two growing businesses. I feel that the skill sets I have acquired over my career so far have been valuable assets to my past employment, and give me a strong base with which to go forward. And i feel very fortunate to have the experience and opportunities I have worked for at my age.

I'm an ambitious creative, eager to learn and take my work very seriously. I'm not afraid to muck in with the task at hand, whether it be big or small and get great pleasure when working on building brands from the ground-up. My hope is to be a part of a team that values a strong work ethic, whilst committing to constantly push the boundaries of its creative output.

I can bring dedication, loyalty and a dollop of humour to any team. I will always strive to ensure that not only myself but the whole business will succeed in any way possible.

If you have any roles opening up that you think I might be suitable for, I would be very grateful to be considered. Furthermore, I would be really chuffed if you had time for a coffee (on me, of course!).
