The “Guardia” badge was established on May 21, 1942 by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR “On the Introduction of Guards Military Ranks for the Military Units and Units of the Red Army and Navy.” The author of the drawing of the sign is the artist S. I. Dmitriev.
During my service in the Soviet army, I proudly bore such a badge, because the division in which I served was Guadean. Guard - elite units of the armed forces.
