ABOUT
I had the pleasure of working with Socrates Communications to create both Macro and Micro illustrated maps of London for The M Building. This project was an exciting opportunity to visually represent the unique character and design of this exceptional building, which is thoughtfully designed to enhance the wellbeing of its occupants.
Through these maps, I aimed to capture the essence of the surrounding area, highlighting notable landmarks, people, and places that contribute to the vibrant spirit of London. The illustrations serve as both functional guides and visually captivating artworks, reflecting the dynamic energy of the city and the elegant sophistication of The M Building.
The client provided a list of locations to be included on the map, such as hotels, shopping centers, restaurants, and historical landmarks. I began by marking the locations of all these points of interest on the map.
Next, I gathered photo references for each building and sourced images of people to ensure accurate and detailed illustrations
I hand-lettered all the street and building names to maintain the authentic, hand-drawn feel of the artwork.
Then, I designed all the icons, including buildings, people, objects, and transportation. I was asked to illustrate people in different styles—more formally dressed for Mayfair and more casually for Marylebone. I chose to depict all buildings in a front view, while illustrating The M Building in a 3D perspective to create a visual focal point.
The illustrations were featured on The M Building's website and will also be printed in a large format
