British Transport Police is the national police force responsible for keeping the rail network across England, Scotland and Wales safe for passengers, staff and operators.

THE BRIEF
Frontline policing within the rail environment presents the same pressures faced by officers in any other force, but within a uniquely complex public space. No two days are the same. Officers must adapt quickly, apply judgement under pressure and show compassion when supporting vulnerable people.

We were briefed to produce a recruitment film aimed at Re joiners and Transferees, officers with prior experience who are considering their next step within policing, and who need a clear, honest picture of what British Transport Police offers as a working environment.

OUR APPROACH
Working closely with the British Transport Police recruitment team, we developed a people led film that prioritised authenticity over persuasion.

The film features self authored stories from a Police Constable and a Detective Constable, offering first hand insight into their roles and motivations. These interviews are interspersed with considered, slow motion sequences filmed around their working environments, including Birmingham New Street station, grounding the story in place and reality.

Our approach was deliberately restrained. Rather than overselling the role, the film focuses on lived experience, professional judgement and the practical realities of policing within the rail network.

THE OUTCOME
The finished film provides British Transport Police with a focused recruitment asset designed to speak directly to experienced officers.

The film was distributed via YouTube and embedded on the British Transport Police careers website, supported by re versioned short form cut downs for social media. All content was subtitled in both English and Welsh to ensure accessibility and consistency across platforms.

Together, the assets support a national recruitment campaign aimed at officers who are making informed, considered decisions about returning to, or transferring within, policing.
