ABOUT
The Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF) is a collaboration of educational institutions working to help people from different backgrounds reach their potential through targeted support and progression programmes.
THE BRIEF
KMPF needed a clear, engaging way to explain their privacy notice to students. The challenge was to communicate how personal data is used and protected in a way that felt accessible, relevant and reassuring, rather than legalistic or intimidating.
The content needed to work for young audiences and support KMPF’s wider outreach activity with schools and community partners.
OUR APPROACH
We focused on simplicity and clarity, removing unnecessary complexity and concentrating on what students actually need to understand.
We proposed a straightforward animation style that combined black and white illustration, clear iconography and kinetic typography, using KMPF’s brand colours sparingly to maintain visual consistency. By framing the story around a classroom whiteboard, we created a familiar, non threatening setting that helped break down the information step by step.
A youthful, upbeat voiceover was used to keep the tone approachable and conversational, ensuring the content felt informative rather than instructional. Every creative choice was made to support understanding, not decoration.
THE OUTCOME
The finished film gives KMPF a practical, reusable communication tool that explains their privacy notice clearly and confidently to students.
The video is shared on YouTube and used across partnership outreach activities, helping KMPF reinforce transparency and build trust with young people engaging with their services.
By making an essential but often overlooked topic easier to understand, the film supports informed participation and strengthens KMPF’s relationship with its audiences.
