Digitom Tunbridge Wells

ABOUT

Screenwave is a community led cinema app that helps people bring the films they love back to the big screen. Free to join and simple to use, the platform allows individuals to propose a screening and invite others to commit, turning demand into a real shared cinema experience.

THE BRIEF
The founders approached Digitom with a clear challenge. They needed a short commercial communication that could introduce the app, explain its value quickly, and emotionally land the idea that cinema is better when it is shared. The film needed to work both in cinemas and across social channels, driving app awareness and downloads.

OUR APPROACH
Working closely with the founders, we focused on the human truth at the heart of the product. Film is rarely just about watching something. It is about belonging, connection and shared moments.

Our creative treatment centred on a familiar, relatable situation. One person, alone in a busy pub, scrolling through the Screenwave app. With a few deliberate taps, they set a screening in motion. As others commit, the atmosphere shifts from isolation to anticipation, and from individual choice to collective experience.

This people led storytelling approach allowed us to explain how the app works without instruction, while showing the emotional payoff of connection through film. The result was a commercial that felt grounded, accessible and true to the founders’ mission, rather than overproduced or promotional.

THE OUTCOME
The finished film was distributed ahead of cinema screenings and adapted for social media, giving Screenwave a flexible launch communication that worked across multiple touchpoints.

By focusing on human behaviour rather than features, the film helped position Screenwave as more than an app. It became a catalyst for shared experiences, new friendships and a renewed sense of community around cinema.

"Digitom understood our vision from the start. By translating it into a story that resonates with audiences, they’ve helped us accelerate our growth and inspire more people to join Screenwave." Spencer, Co-Founder
