ABOUT

THE BRIEF

The South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) is a ‘coalition for growth’ between business, government and education. It is the largest LEP outside of London covering East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Southend and Thurrock.

We were asked to deliver an online learning animation to induct new board members to the organisation remotely. Ordinarily this induction training would be conducted face to face, but due to the Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, that was not possible.

OUR APPROACH

We worked to a tight timescale, with just 7 days from briefing to delivery. Using an initial script from the client, our team developed a storyboard built around the concept of story chapters for the online learning. Our designers created a mixture of animated scenes, iconography and kinetic typography based around existing brand guidelines, to deliver the 22-minute video.

The voiceover-led animation, featuring music and sound design was created and delivered remotely in its entirety, during the Covid-19 lockdown. This enabled the new South East LEP board members to be inducted, so that their first online meeting could go ahead as planned on the 17th April 2020.

"Digitom understood very quickly the style and tone we were looking for with the video and was able to make suggestions which aided the communication of this complex message. The swift turnaround of the animation meant we were able to induct our new board of directors.

"As a result we were able to continue making important decisions to strengthen our economy and make sure we are doing everything we can to support our communities when we emerge from the Covid-19 crisis." Adam Bryan, Chief Executive Officer
