We were briefed to inform and empower mothers-to-be and new mothers with a helpful, intuitive mobile app that they can trust, like a friend.

Preparing to give birth, and to care for a new baby can be one of life’s most daunting challenges. There is so much to think about, to know, and to do, that many parents find themselves overwhelmed. We were approached by the charity Best Beginnings to help solve this problem.

We created a simple, warm and welcoming design to deliver serious health information in a way that reflected the joy, and the reality, of new parenthood. The beginning of your experience asks you to create your Baby Buddy, a personalised avatar who gives you reliable advice using reassuring and informative language. As the target group for the app was vast, constant testing was carried out to ensure an optimal user experience.

The success of the app has seen endorsements by several institutions including The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, won an award for the best app within “Pregnancy, Birth and Early Years” category at AXA PPP “Health Tech & You” awards. The app has impacted lives of many females, which reflects the 40,000+ downloads received.
