ABOUT
North Norway: Seasons of Sun and Snow is a beautiful hard cover book, featuring incredible portrait and landscape photography, interviews, personal essays and archival texts. It is not a guide book but designed to inspire your own exploration of North Norway.
The brief for this project was born from the shared experience of the small team involved, following several trips over four years and covering a thousand miles in the north of Norway; from mountain towns to fishing villages; forests and islands.
The objective was to celebrate the draw of the landscape and also, crucially, focus on the community and heritage of locals - emphasising generational connections without romanticising the past. Relationships with locals were built over time to help gain their trust in our ability to retell their stories visually. It was important to give a calm and respectful voice to the people we met and for this to be successfully reflected in the art direction and layout. Content includes contributions from cultural activists, designers, producers, academics and chefs.
The final format is a 400 page, hard cover book.
