ABOUT
The Leeds Congenital Heart Unit is one of the leading, specialist heart units in the country. Due to the growing profile of the supporting 'Children's Heart Surgery Fund, charity' and the importance of patient and family support and raising finance, the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund needed to evolve their brand to gain further support from corporate and grant funding and communicate the important role they have as a support network for patients and families.
Rallying such support from the hearts and minds of friends and families across the region, demonstrates the huge historical success of the organisation. However with the success of the heart unit, comes additional demand on the charity. Heart patients are now living well in to adulthood and beyond. With this comes emotional and family support, all of which is funded by the charity.
The commitment and dedication from individuals and families who raise money are the life-blood of the charity. However attracting additional funding and partnering with corporate organisations means the charity can continue to fund the increasing demands of the unit and it’s families.
We created a strategy to bring the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in line with a new vision by reviewing and repositioning the brand. Our audit results confirmed that we should concentrate our efforts on establishing their 4 key areas of support – ‘care for the heart, mind, family and future’. Our identity work supported this by renewing the image of the organisation, to a unique charity that supports patients and families for life.
