ABOUT

In an unexpected comeback from Rianne Ten Haken, “Never a Comeback” explores how the icons that mark us most endure through time.A world where the imaginary and reality merge, what marks us most lives forever in our hearts. Never a Comeback celebrates Rianne Ten Haken's return to editorials after a long career break, and reflects on the timelessness of icons. Ten Haken, one of photographer Steven Meisel's main muses, has established herself as an indispensable and irreproachable name in fashion. Now living in Portugal and after becoming a mother, the mannequin (re-) presents herself in a set of black and white images that affirms that true icons never leave us.

With a closet predominantly made up of vintage pieces, Never a Comeback tells the story of a cyclical world in which time has little or no effect.

The gallery above shows the work in progress. After retouching the images, they were printed on fine art paper and re-photographed. One image was physically stitched with a thread in order to mimic the strands of thread similar to the jackets design. Other images were cut and framed with textured papers, allowing the details and tonalities to become an element of the work itself.
