ABOUT

This project started from a place of trying to emulate the pose and command of space usually reserved for those believed to have a divine right to rule. I specifically took inspiration from neoclassical paintings and the strong imagery in them.

The first set of images are brightly lit and meant to instill awe and raw intention to the viewer.

It was interesting because as the shoot progressed and we experimented with darker more intimate poses, the expression felt deeper. It reminded me of how mythical figures in classical are sometimes were presented in eery and mysterious tones.

The final idea is about how we present ourselves to the world while wearing a different face behind closed doors.
