About me

My name is David Glover and I have just completed
my third and final year of a Media ProductionBsc (hons) course at De
Montfort University in Leicester, achieving a 2:1 (hons) grade. I am
now looking to begin my career in the media industry. Since my youth I
have always been interested in video and film production. From shooting
short films at school to creating basic animation I have always sought
a way to showcase my creativity.

Throughout my University course I have had the
opportunity to learn and practice a number of film and television roles
and techniques, although in the past two years I have specialised in
Motion Graphics and Post Production, mainly using Products such as
Adobe After Effects and Photoshop/Illustrator and am extremely
confident in this field.

Throughout my Degree, I have had the opportunity
to take on a number of roles within the media industry. By far, the
part of the production process that I enjoyed the most was Post
Production. I loved everything from editing and grading to video
effects and motion graphics. Post Production is most definitely the
area of the Media Industry, into which I want to enter. What I enjoy
about post production is that it really allows you to showcase a
message or idea as creatively as possible. Programs such as After
Effects offer no limits; anything you want to create is possible. This
is a mantra which I have always to my work. I am an incredibly creative
individual, and yearn to create professional and original materials. As
well as effects programs, I am able to use most editing programs,
including: Premiere, FCP and Avid.

Whilst I am only just setting out on my Media
Career, I believe that I can offer the same level of quality and
professionalism as any other applicant, although I also guarantee that
I can trump their creativity. Unfortunately, the opportunities for a
Media Production graduate are slim in my home town, and so I am
elsewhere in the country, this means that I am prepared to relocate as
soon as possible so as to be able to pursue my career.

I have already worked with a small company,
E-ngage for around a year (around my degree), producing a number of
media products such as television adverts and motion graphic idents.
The company however, has no need for a full-time content producer and
so I am now looking for a new company with which to pursue my career.
As well as media work, I have also been a part of community media
projects, such as local radio, as well as having a part time job at
Staples: The Office Superstore, so I am no stranger to hard graft or
menial work.
