ABOUT
I have been submitting pieces into the Printclub London Blisters show since 2013. This years theme was a moment in time, the moon landing, the Berlin Wall falling, Trump's wall going up.
Again I submitted and once again I made it in. The piece they chose was my Andy Warhol piece. Rather than choosing a moment in time, I decided to bring to the show a piece about him believing we would all have our moment, our 15 minutes of fame. I think the piece being so stripped back with the clock showing 15 minutes in his glasses sits really well next to my Bowie piece. Its all about the face of the subject without actually showing the face, just its iconic elements.
The show was on Friday 13th September, once again Dalston was the place to be. The show as always was incredible. 50 incredible pieces by 50 artists. There was live screen printing, open studios, I got to chat to an amazing artist I follow on Instagram Mark McClure and also Clare Halifax, I’ve loved her work for a few years now.
The print seemed to go down really well. Printed onto ebony GF Smith Colourplan with metallic ink, I was really happy with the final result. And I sold a few too. Its quite traumatic putting something to paper and then saying I did that but as long as you stay true to yourself and you love the work, what’s the worst that can happen?
You can purchase the Andy Warhol print on the Printclub London Website.
I’m already looking forward to next year.
