ABOUT

“I Can Cook” was a children’s TV series created by Endemol UK. In 2012, working with Skew Studio, I helped provide licensees with a design style guide that would empower children to get cooking.

My aim for the brand was to create a brand style guide that would inspire the core audience of children and at the same time sit comfortably in a contemporary kitchen. The secondary ambition was to enable the brand to “live” beyond the end of its broadcast life.

For the live tour at Butlins, I created a design to mirror the “surf-tshirt” trend popular at retail, but using visuals based on cookery and the van driven by the series presenter, maintaining the brand colours. Here again the idea was to create a branded product that kids would like and that their parents would like to buy for them.

The new designs were successfully brought to retail by Lakeland and Butlins from Q3, 2012, and were subsequently also used on the TV series itself, live events and also in publishing.
