About me
In promoting the belief that the study of Design must go deeper than the skills and techniques of a single discipline, my degree engaged with readings and discourses concerning society, the individual, and the environment, and encouraged me to act through design to affect change, propose new visions of the future, and engage with sustainability. This involved responding to the dynamics of people, places and things in order to discover new forms of person/object relationships. I also had to be very aware of the responsibilities of the contemporary designer, especially when applied to social, cultural, ecological and political change.
The third year of my Degree was spent working in industry with VERSI.ON Creative (February - March 2006) and NewFutureGraphic (March - September 2006) where I learnt a lot about working in the commercial environment and where my practical skills improved greatly.
Upon completion of my Degree I have travelled around and lived in Europe whilst ensuring I maintain my creativity by continuing with my design and illustration work in tandem with other employment. This has taken the form of illustrations for music, websites and clothing, logo and flyer design, competition entries and commissioned artworks.
