ABOUT

For the brand’s 30th Anniversary, the brief was clear: re-establish a connection between the brand and its performance roots.

To commemorate this milestone, Nike opened MUSEUM 23 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. Fans were treated to a very special visit by Michael Jordan himself, his first visit to Japan in nearly 11 years.

MUSEUM 23 TOYKO will be an interactive space where visitors can learn about the Jordan brand history. On a special court constructed specifically for the exhibit, MJl re-enacted the legendary “Last Shot” from the 1998 NBA finals. ‘The Last Shot’ is a fully immersive and interactive LED half court that transforms to Michael Jordan’s greatest moments – complete with era-specific crowds and iconic NBA and NCAA courts. Players choose from three different moments to recreate the shots that cemented MJ as the greatest player of all time.

To add to the immersive experience, archive images of Jordan mid-flight were shown as part of the “JUMPMAN Projection.

IMPACT
Inspiring the future by learning from the past. The interactive installation gave an entire generation a glimpse into the history of the sport and the man behind the Jordan ‘Jumpman’ logo. Continuing the brand’s legacy of raising the bar for greatness.
