Leonard Cheshire wanted to make a film based around their hashtag #ActuallyICan - a campaign that hopes to inspire people to get involved with their volunteering activities. They also wanted to challenge the viewers’ perception of what a disabled person can do in terms of their own capabilities, but also in life. The film as a result is based around Charlie, a young disabled man who is fighting against not just his lack of self confidence, but a society that frequently tells him ‘no’.
