An editorial celebrating the short yet incredible life story of Marilyn Monroe.

The brief, 'The Undiscovered Country', set by ISTD was to design a publication that ‘visits death’ – a work that will inform and stimulate the intellect whilst pleasing the typographic designer’s eye. The final concept being a series of life stories of varying lengths that work together to reflect the following quote from Stephen Cave, inspiring the idea of living in the moment rather than fearing death:

“Imagine the book of your life, its covers; it’s beginning and end, and your birth and your death. You can only know the moments in between, the moments that make up your life. It makes no sense for you to fear what is outside of those covers, whether before your birth or after your death. And you needn’t worry how long the book is, or whether it’s a comic strip or an epic. The only thing that matters is that you make it a good story.”
