Dear Sir/Madam,
I've had a strong interest in computers from a young age which led me to studying Information & Communications Technology from secondary school throughout to university, providing me with extensive knowledge and skills in all areas of the subject, including programming & web development. My education has trained me to be well familiar with applications such as Visual Studio and SQL, learning programming languages such as HTML, CSS, ASP.Net, C# and SQL.
I am very comfortable with communicating with clients on a daily basis and considered to be polite and well spoken. I have always been seen as someone who is quite down-to-earth, friendly and approachable, I gladly help others in all situations whether I'm assisting fellow classmates, guiding a lost stranger or lending a hand to my colleagues.
Given my interest in web development I also read many books and tutorials to further my knowledge. Working as a self-employed web designer gave me a lot of experience in communicating with clients face to face and building relationships to make working with them a lot less awkward. Being organised and meeting agreed deadlines that were made with my client were also fundamental factors in providing an efficient service. I feel these attributes are quite essential in an office environment especially when you're required to support your colleagues.
The reason I took on my degree is due to my passion and interest for computers. Even though I have just completed my BA ICT degree, I am still eager to learn more and I would very much like the opportunity to explain how I can combine my previous employment and knowledge in IT to be beneficial to your company.
