Hello,

I've recently seen your advert asking for content writers and wanted to apply for one of the vacant positions. My name is Daniel Smyth and I have been a professional freelance writer for seven years.

During that time I have worked as a feature writer and section editor for a magazine, as well as a writer for various online sites and content agencies.

My main area of expertise is gaming (poker, casino and sports betting); however, I also have a passion for sports and fitness and regard myself as something of a generalist when it comes to writing.

I currently produce content for a UK based company and within this role I am required to produce articles of varying lengths and styles for high profile gaming clients. Although the specific aims of each article vary, the main goals are always the same: to raise brand awareness and integrate a specific link.

For example, I can be sent a brief which requires me to write an article about mobile technology and find a way to link it to a gaming client (e.g. PokerStars). After coming up with a suitable title and subject, it is my job to then build in a reference to PokerStars and integrate a specific link in the most natural way possible.

Undertaking this type of work has allowed me to write about a range of topics in an authoritative way. Although I may not be an expert in all disciplines, I am able to write confidently, creatively and intelligently on a slew of subjects. Moreover, I am able to follow briefs, construct articles based on keyword data, stick to tight deadlines and react to editorial advice if necessary.
