To whom it may concern,

I wish to apply for the position of Copy Writer

I am currently a second year university student at Lancaster University studying for a BA (Hons) in

Philosophy. Whilst studying for a term in North America, I wrote for and became part of the staff

collective of the student newspaper Arthur. I attended weekly story meetings to discuss content,

organized and wrote features and met weekly deadlines. I developed strong relationships with the

editorial staff and provided feedback and insight where possible to ensure an efficient and high

quality newspaper, additionally as a result I posses a fast typing speed.

I have gained organisational and facilitation skills whilst in Canada having attended and helped

facilitate several groups working under Peterborough OPIRG (Ontario Public Interest Research

Group). Whilst with OPIRG, I had to meet with and co-ordinate people and groups, plan events in

conjunction with researching funding opportunities. These skills allowed me to work effectively

within a team environment and helped me in working with a diverse array of people. Furthermore,

my experiences in leading expeditions for groups of students around the UK has given me the

confidence needed for this role.
