Daniel Enrique Pearson Video Editor & Motion Designer

ABOUT

This is a short explainer advertisement I created for an imagined wellness app, Loopi. The ad takes inspiration from the bright, playful design aesthetic of brands like Headspace, using soft shapes, vibrant colours, and fluid transitions to bring the concept to life. The narrative follows a stressed character overwhelmed by notifications, who finds relief and joy through the app’s focus exercises.

One of the most interesting challenges in this project was the character rigging process, which I hadn’t attempted before. I had to learn how to design characters specifically for rigging, and then experiment with Duik Angela to achieve natural, expressive movement. In another scene, Duik wasn’t producing the results I wanted, so I turned to custom expressions to create the motion I envisioned. This combination of new technical approaches pushed me to think differently about workflow and animation problem-solving.

Overall, this project gave me the chance to explore character-driven motion design within a playful brand world, while also levelling up my technical skills in rigging and expressions.
