PATH OF EXILE SKINS – TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
Clipping Control • Rig Compatibility • Character Skin Integration
3D Technical Art • Skin Integration QA • Asset Compatibility Checking
OVERVIEW
A technical implementation role focused on ensuring character skins function correctly in-engine, maintaining visual integrity and preventing clipping issues across wearable combinations.
This project involved handling 6 character skins, making sure all assets remain stable, compatible, and visually clean in different equipment configurations.
BRIEF
The task was to integrate and validate multiple character skins while ensuring:
No clipping with default wearable items
Proper spatial alignment on character rigs
Consistent proportions across equipment states
Stable visual performance across different combinations
The goal was to maintain visual correctness and in-game usability of all assigned skins.
PROCESS
A technical QA and adjustment pipeline was followed:
Skin Integration Testing – Applying skins across default character models
Clipping Detection – Identifying intersections with armor, weapons, and attachments
Proximity Adjustment – Refining spacing and offset values for clean fit
Rig Compatibility Checks – Ensuring skins behave correctly with animation systems
Iterative Fix Passes – Re-testing after each adjustment cycle across all 6 characters
RESULT
All 6 character skins were successfully validated and adjusted to ensure:
Clean visual integration with default wearable sets
No noticeable clipping during standard movement and pose states
Stable and consistent fit across all assigned character models
The final output ensured production-ready cosmetic compatibility within the game environment.
