About me
Dear Sir / Madam
I am a product design graduate from London South Bank University, where I have been taught to be an 'all-rounder' through executing many diverse projects individually and in groups, all with using Illustrator and Photoshop, among other programs, to create presentation boards. These boards are a crucial part of how our products are perceived, being marked on brand development and identity and reflecting that in each board to tie them together. Legibility in text and in a visual sense through layout, line and colour were pivotal in promoting the product successfully. I have had to be an effective graphic designer as well as a product designer to get the grades, which is reflected in my portfolio and the lecturers nudging other students in my direction for layout and brand advice.
As well as creating printed material (leaflets, posters etc.) for university projects, my previous employment at Snappy Snaps helped to lay the foundations, designing and printing bespoke invitations and cards and building rapports with customers, working as part of a small creatively effective team.
Being a creative designer through my 4 years at university, I also enjoy using my skills in my personal work too, recently designing wedding packages for two of my friends, which really helped to broaden my knowledge of Adobe software and gave me more experience of working directly with the client. I am also the creative support for a local potter, designing business cards, taking product photographs and producing an exhibition banner. I have some web experience working with my Uncle on his Hypnotherapy business, creating a brand identity and website (Serif WebPlus X7) for him in my placement year - . On similar lines a university project to redesigning our virtual learning environment, I used Wix online website prototyping software, where you can still view it () and watch the competition video on YouTube - . I have Adobe Flash experience in creating two animations, one for a London company - OutSpace website's main page () and the above mentioned VLE project video. I have also used Serif Anime Pro to create an animation telling the second years about my placement year experience - .
As you can see I try to experience everything I can creatively, continually learning new skills driven by my projects. I've accomplished digital skills I would not have thought possible, through determination and a thirst to learn and deliver the best result I can. I would really like the opportunity to be part of a team again and expand my knowledge further, using my artistic eye to deliver great instinctive design.
