Concept:

We’ve been working with Sustrans, the Active Travel charity that makes it easier for everyone to walk, wheel or cycle, since 2022.

Execution:

Our initial project was to develop a new narrative for the charity, a statement of purpose that everyone in the organisation could get behind. We worked with the senior management team to develop a new strategy statement and programme which reflected the breadth of work that Sustrans delivers every year, and then worked closely with the brand team to develop a new series of brand assets tools and templates to both bring the strategy statement to life and to establish a new design system across the organisation.

We then developed a new interactive PDF available to all staff, supports, stakeholders and the public, to understand Sustrans’ goals and objectives.

We also developed a new expression of Purpose, ‘Come to Life’, and recently launched a new campaign to support Sustrans’ vision of a society where the way we travel creates healthier places and happier lives for all. The new campaign is designed to inspire people to change the way we all travel every day, forging closer connections with our neighbours and reducing traffic to create a better environment and more sustainable society.

This Purpose was used during the creation of all campaign assets including social media cards, assets for digital display and out of home design. We coordinated the launch of the designs to feature bus rears travelling along multiple routes across four cities to maximise impact of the campaign.

Results:

The campaign was designed around reaching people in four target cities, to raise awareness of Sustrans and their work, which it has achieved to an excellent degree. The results of the campaign were met with positive feedback from Sustrans and an additional campaign is currently set to be executed next year.
