ABOUT

Aside from its global campaign, Converse has collaborated with London-based artist, Damilola Odusote, in creating an originally striking ‘Made by You’ art installation in a unique showspace on the capital’s Shoreditch high street.

Capturing his own interpretation of the sneaker portraits in the form of thousands of polaroids, each depicting a singular Londoner and their pair of All Stars, British-born Odusote, recognised for his artisan sculptures and abstract techniques, has assembled the throw-away images to create an inaugural structure in the form of London’s iconic geographic silhouette.

Supported by students from Central Saint Martins, Odusote’s hand-crafted installation not only projects the artist’s inherent academics and understanding around free-standing structuring, but reveals a side of London that is often over-looked – its diverse charisma, its authenticity, and most importantly, its on-going celebration of self-expressionism.
