Damien's work

Having worked in the furniture industry for over 6 years I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge especially in the design and manufacture of upholstered Furniture. In that time I have worked closely with the biggest names in the business, namely DFS, SCS, Furniture Village and John Lewis to name a few.On top of this I have worked on many internal and independent product designs. I have gained skills in Key areas of the design process such concept development, manufacturing processes, graphic presentation skills, prototyping and 3D softwares, I also have a rich understanding of Marketing and sales techniques which I consider to be essential to the creation of an exceptionally commercial product. I have also spent some time working in the bespoke furniture industry during the first two years of my career. I feel that my career has progressed naturally since my graduation from university, which I feel is down to the integrity and passion have for this career and the way that I work diligently to assure that what I design is done to the best of my ability. I want to design products that not only carry a physical connection to the consumer but and emotional one to. I am a strong team player as proven in my years of playing team sports like soccer and gaelic football but I also posses a strong ability to consistently perform effectively as an individual which is outlined by the fact that I graduated from university. Since graduating from University I feel that my opinion of design has matured and is making a natural progression. Furniture design is not a Job to me it's a lifestyle and a passion.
