D&AD London

ABOUT

The central idea: show a little boy who can’t stop crying at home, but his mood transforms when he notices the festival sights and sounds coming in through his window. This moment of discovery — of something “real & fantastic” — calms him. A symbolic image of a giant figure walking through the streets celebrating is used.
It seeks to express how the public festival, its atmosphere, energy, and sounds, influence even those not directly participating. That is: even people inside their homes (like the boy) are affected by the festival.
There’s a contrast between the interior (home, distress) and the outside (celebration, joy). The narrative plays with emotional transformation—stress and tension giving way to relief, warmth, wonder.
Curation Hour
Key creative aspects: the blend of realism and fantasy; turning the festival into something visible and emotionally palpable through the window; dramatizing a private reaction to a public, communal event.
