ABOUT

Music for a film featuring dancers showcasing the permanent collection of the largest art museum in Switzerland.

The music fuses classical and electronic dance music, to represent the precious old and the exciting new in the art collection. The musical arrangement includes real recorded strings for an authentic traditional sound and edgy beats for a contemporary vibe.

The track was required to be composed ahead of the shooting, so the dancers had the bespoke music to dance to. And it was required to insert the sound of an art installation by Pippilotti Rist, which can be heard about halfway through the film. The film editing was done using the ready music.

"Sometimes a work of art attracts you, sometimes it irritates you. One will shake your convictions, another will make you fly high. Only one thing is certain: a visit to the Kunsthaus Zurich will never leave you unmoved.

As the largest art museum in Switzerland, the Kunsthaus Zürich brings together more than eight centuries of art history. The collection spans from the Middle Ages to the present day: paintings, sculptures, installations as well as works on paper, photographs, videos and digital works, which are shown in changing presentations."
