Waitrose and Caffé Nero launch new in-store Cafés with the help of Creative Agency Cygnus

Published

CYGNUS, an award winning creative agency, has announced their collaboration on the new Caffé Nero x Waitrose Cafes.

Waitrose, Caffé Nero and Cygnus have collectively worked together over the past 12 months to be able to install and launch the 5 new cafés. Cygnus, as a creative agency, handled the environment designs, production and installations of the project. Cygnus have been working with The Nero Group, the family owned and operated premium coffee house business behind Caffé Nero, since 2022, and were delighted to be brought onboard for the brief.

When the first 5 sites were chosen, the surveys and design work was developed across a six month period before carrying out the installs in November and December of this year. Cygnus oversaw final sign off before each site opened to ensure all brand guidelines, and requirements from both parties were met.

Marcus Swift, Cygnus, Managing Partner, commented: “We at Cygnus are incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Caffe Nero and Waitrose as we embark on this exciting 5-store trial, showcasing our commitment to creativity, innovation and quality to deliver an exceptional experience for their consumers.”

The first Waitrose stores to offer the new cafes will be Billericay, Godalming, Keynsham, Locks Heath and Stroud. The new Waitrose café concept provides customers with a full sit in café experience.

Cygnus continues to work closely with Caffé Nero and Waitrose as their relationship continues to grow. With the 5 pilot cafés now launched, Cygnus are excited to see what else will come of the Waitrose and Nero partnership.

Will Stratton-Morris, Caffè Nero CEO UK commented: “Our partnership with Waitrose continues to build and we’ve been delighted with the close working relationship we have grown. We have always seen the potential to deepen that relationship further and the launch of the new cafés in Waitrose is a key step in that process, as is widening the scope of our relationship with our first Caffè Nero store within a John Lewis store. I’m excited that customers can enjoy the hospitality and premium coffee of a Caffè Nero within the unique shopping experience of John Lewis. It’s a perfect pairing and there is still so much scope for our partnership to continue to grow”.
