Iain McKell is a London based photographer who is widely known for his work around youth subculture.

McKell has always been interested in rebel tribes; in visual and moral provocateurs; in people whom challenge society's status quo. Over the last ten years he has photographed, with particular devotion, the community of British horse drawn travelers, or as he renamed them, The New Gypsies.

I was photographed riding Pepper, a horse drawn traveller's working cob in mermaid costume at the Big Green Gathering 2008. The photo was posed but spontaneous - a chance meeting.
